As a Building Biologist Environmental Consultant (BBEC), and Electromagnetic Radiation Specialists (EMRS), I am required to obtain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two years to continue the International Institute for Bau-biologie® & Ecology (hbelc.org) certifications to stay current with rapidly evolving Science and Industry latest developments.

I recently completed the Radio Frequency Safety Officer (RFSO) Course through the Institute Of Electrical And Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Professional Development and Certificates Program.

This IEEE Certificate has helped me obtain work with county municipalities and as an expert witness in a court case in Pennsylvania. The county needed “average maximum RF power density measurements” to address a complaint about alleged hazardous RF exposure. The court case was about a family that was injured by a massive cell tower and had to break the lease to avoid extreme pain and suffering.

Course Highlights
The course I completed covers the way the Federal Communications Commission, FCC, determines Safe Levels of RF Radiation, which considers only the thermal effect of RF radiation.

If it were not for my study of peer reviewed reports on biological damage caused by RF, case histories on communities that have cell towers, documenting biological RF radiation health damage and my own personal experience with hundreds of my clients when the radiation is reduced or removed such as when a transmitting smart utility meter is removed, I would certainly believe that the is no possibility of any harm until your body actually heats up by greater than1ºC (1.8ºF) from the RF radiation.

This course is a textbook presentation of the theory that “FCC RF radiation limits are safe for continuous exposures from all sources and are intended to provide a prudent margin of safety for all persons, regardless of age, gender, size, or health”.

Why I Took The Course?
I took the course was to get the “Inside View” of how engineers and government officials designing, manufacturing, selling or regulating RF radiation transmission devices and services are educated, what doctrine they adhere to and what they use as human safety guidelines.

I felt the course was very informative, believable and helps me understand why industry and government leaders state that there is no harm unless your body actually heats up from the RF radiation by greater than1ºC (1.8ºF).

Final Thoughts
The RFSO training was very compelling and explains the way RF Radiation heats the body but it acknowledges that non-thermal biological damage is uncertain (in their eyes of the FCC, IEEE, ICNIRP, WHO and other non-governmental organizations).
